giving the area a unique charm some of the most famous landmarks in gamla Stand include the Royal Palace which is the official residence of the Swedish royal family and is open to the public for tours the Stockholm Cathedral is another must-see attraction which dates back to the 13th century and is the oldest church in Stockholm ganlastan is also a popular destination for shopping with many small people karuna is also known for its unique architecture and urban planning in recent years the town has undergone significant changes due to the expansion of the iron ore mine beneath it as a result many buildings and infrastructure have had to be moved to New locations this has led to the development of a new city center and the construction of modern and sustainable buildings the town is also home to several cultural and historical attractions such as the Karima Church which is one of the largest wooden buildings in the country and the Sami parliament of Sweden karuna is also a popular consists of 42 towers and four Gates and it encircles the old town of visby the wall is made of limestone and features a number of towers that are connected by a crenellated walkway the wall also features four Gates which were used to enter and exit the town the gates have been restored and are open to the public allowing visitors to walk along the wall and enjoy the views of the town and the
